St. Patrick’s Day countdown is on! St. Patrick’s Day occurs annually on March 17 in observance of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. What began as a religious feast day in the 17th century has evolved into a variety of festivals across the globe celebrating Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, and a whole lot of green.
Chattanooga is ready to paint the town green with the following events to help you celebrate::
- St. Patrick’s Day Moonlight Cruise on the Southern Belle Riverboat March 17, 11:00 pm to 1:00 am The Irish and the Irish-at-heart celebrate with us on a two-hour cruise with a DJ spinning your favorite tunes! 21 and up only. Cash bar.
- The Shamrock Show at Ziggy’s March 17, 9:00 pm to 1:00 am Enjoy St. Patrick’s Day to the fullest with the Silver Tongued Devilz, The Murder Of Jane Crow, Wheathouse and Sparky & The Band.
- St. Chatty’s Day Parade March 18, 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Celebrate the traditional St. Patrick’s Day with more than 40 participants parading through downtown Chattanooga from Market Street, across the Market Street Bridge up Frazier Avenue to Coolidge Park.
- St. Paddy’s Party on Patten Parkway March 18, 2:00 pm to Midnight This all–ages street party is designed to showcase and promote local and regional musicians and celebrate the universally loved St Patrick’s Day holiday. The Party on the Parkway festival uses the entire length of Patten Parkway to celebrate with an additional outdoor stage, food and beer vendors. This year, the party features a large kids’ zone with interactive games and crafts, Kids dance party, Chattanooga Zoo’s mobile petting zoo and the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile. The pub shuttle will safely transports guests to and from the event from several other locations on the Southside, North Shore and downtown.
General admission tickets: $15 VIP ticket: $45 – The VIP Jameson lounge will feature private VIP restrooms, event t-shirt and 3 beer tickets.
- Shamrock City at Rock City March 18 and 19, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Looking for the luck of the Irish? Visit Rock City’s 10th annual Irish celebration and festival—Shamrock City! This premiere St. Patrick’s Day event includes live Irish music, Irish jig lessons, Irish food, specialty beer, dance performances, costumed characters, and fun for the whole family! You can even see the High Falls flowing green!
